 SLAVERY is a quintet originating from Paris France that plays a unique kind of Extreme Metal.
Eversince its founding in 1996, the band has kept on expressing a brand new chaotic vision of brutality by fusing the best of old school metal and hardcore bands into an outburst of raging fury and stunning brutality and established itself as one of the finest and most promising local underground act.
After a few local shows and a first recording in 1998 featuring on local compilation (PARIS RISING - Rise Records), the band released a warmly acclaimed debut MCD (TO SEDATE AGONY - Miserere Chords) in late 2000 and started playing around seventy shows throughout France and Europe (Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain) along with various bands like Obituary, Mastodon, Cephalic Carnage, Master, Skarhead, Exhumed, Inhume, Jr Ewing, Against Me!, Knuckledust, Stamping Ground, Defdump, Do or Die, Kickback, Es La Guerilla, Right for Life, Black Bomb A, Burn Hollywood Burn, Comity...
In the year 2003, SLAVERY signed on french label SEVERAL BLEEDS RECORDS and, after the three weeks long EUROPE AGONY TOUR, the band began focusing on the writing process of its upcoming album by recording several demos with sound engineer Francis Caste.
With their long awaited first full-length entitled WAR IS PEACE… DEAD IS DEAD, SLAVERY now delivers its real power : an abrasive mixture of frenzied chaotic rhythms melt with desperately claustrophobic grooves and overwhelming power. |
